THE MAURICE KIRYA EXPERIENCE PERFORMING IN CROATIA
Maurice and his band left their beautiful and beloved Uganda to take their talent to Croatia. They will be featuring in a live TV show on July 9th before they perform at the Park-in-Zagreb-Festival in the Croatian capital on July 10th and then proceed to the Croatian coast of the Mediterranean sea where they will have a concert in Cafe Jazz Tunnel on July 14th and more shows that are not yet confirmed. Maurice & Band are looking forward to promote Uganda and its musical richness in Europe!

MAURICE KIRYA JOINS LOCAL AND HOLLYWOOD CELEBRITIES TO PROMOTE GORILLA CONSERVATION AWARENESS
Maurice Kirya teamed up with local artistes GNL Zamba, Isaiah Katumwa, Cindy Sanyu and Hollywood actor Simon Curtis on a mountain gorilla tracking adventure filled with tears and laughter in Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park and surrounding communities in Western Uganda. The idea was to go trekking in the mountains and also to visit local community hospitals, orphanages and gorilla clinics to sensitize the world about the importance of mountain gorilla conservation in Uganda. Through protecting the mountain gorilla, tourism is promoted and local communities are developed through improved healthcare and educational facilities like Bwindi Hospital and Bwindi Watoto Primary School. All this happened courtesy of the Uganda Wildlife Association’s www.friendagorilla.org initiative. When asked about his trip, Maurice had this to say, “I was touched by the beauty of nature that Uganda has to offer. Not only has it placed the country in a good light but it has also improved the lives of hundreds of people living in surrounding communities.”

THE MAURICE KIRYA EXPERIENCE TO TAKE THREE MONTH BREAK
The Maurice Kirya Experience will be taking a three month break starting June till September 2010, to focus on an upcoming ‘Misubbaawa’ musical production in August. Because of this, all fans are urged not to miss this month’s experience scheduled for the 25th of this month. It will be the last of its kind for three months and will also mark the show’s second year anniversary. Several live acts including poets, painters and bands from all over the world are expected to brace the event and fans will also be able to meet and get autographs and take pictures with their favorite artistes. The three hour show at Club Rouge will start at 7:30 pm on Tuesday 25/May/2010 and entrance is 10,000/= only. On the proposed break, Maurice Kirya had this to say, “So many fans were disappointed that we would be taking a break but the ‘Misubbaawa’ music production is a good excuse and the fans have definitely forgiven us.”

MISUBBAAWA CONCERT COMING SOON
The first ever official concert for the “Misubbaawa” album is finally here. Maurice Kirya will be having a two day concert for his ‘Misubbaawa’ album in August this year. The concert is rumored to be the first of its kind in Uganda; a musical featuring, actors, professional models, designers and photographers, ballerina dancers, orchestra pieces and a surprise international artiste to mention but a few. Preparations for the productions will take two months and the event venue and exact dates will be announced soon on this page. The show that will see him run through the whole ‘Misubbaawa’ album will mark the last days for the big album promotions as he will be embarking on and revealing a new project shortly after. Renowned animations and video expert, Solomon Jagwe is expected to fly in for the project. “I want my fantasies to be brought to life in terms of live performance and concert production. The fact that this whole project is self funded is going to be difficult but it’s exactly the challenge we are looking forward to,” said Kirya. “ It might not be’ Michael Jackson like’ but it will be definitely be ‘ wanna be like’, haha!( we hope he does not try to dance) “I want to do the utmost best from the little we have to show that even we, in Uganda, are capable of professional concert productions.” Now there is something to look forward to.

Maurice visiting USA and performing at SXSW
Maurice is currently in Texas and will perform at the famous South by Southwest music festival in Austin which is taking place from March 17 -21, 2010. The festival showcases hundreds of musical acts from around the globe on over eighty stages in downtown Austin. Maurice will proudly represent Uganda and make the audience fall in love with his “mwooyo”. His performance will take place on Wednesday, March 17 at 8pm on the 18th floor of the Hilton Garden Inn. BODA BODA video out now
Maurice released a new video; "Boda Boda" is a song from his new album 'MISUBBAAWA' which was recorded at FIRST LOVE STUDIO. The video was shot by CG PRODUCTION and edited by DEDDAC. Maurice himself directed it. The next video to be released will be "Misubbaawa", the shooting was already completed and it will be online soon, watch out for it!

MISUBBAAWA ALBUM IN STORES NOW!
After an official launch of the album at a press conference in Kampala in December 2009, Maurice’s first official album has hit Ugandan stores. The soulful album is available at Cineplex, Banana Boat, Serena, 1000 Cups, Good African Coffee, Antonio’s, etc. Get yourself a copy!
